The new 4.0 has 6 individual tests in which to evaluate the dog, giving us more information to make a better analysis of whether we have a purebred or not. We take into consideration each test result and evaluate a dogs purity based on those results. Your dog may show inconclusive on one test and still be a purebred dog. About the Biewer Terrier Club of America, Inc....
Registration Assistance Committee Policy;
To register your dog/dogs with the Biewer Terrier Registry of America (BTRA) is an honor and a privilege. As a new breed it is of the utmost importance to protect the integrity of the purebred Biewer Terrier. We will assist people with the registration process and explain the rules and regulations of registering with BTRA and the AKC.
Registration Assistance Committee Mission Statement
To uphold the integrity of the Biewer Terrier Registry of America and to promote the registration of Purebred Biewer Terriers. We must abide by the rules set forth by BTRA and the AKC. We shall encourage all those who have an interest and love for our breed to register their purebred Biewer Terriers with BTRA and AKC. We have to encourage breeders to health test their dogs before breeding and breed the best examples of the purebred Biewer Terrier.

Understanding the Mars Testing Requirements
The Biewer Terrier Registry of America uses the Mars Wisdom Panel testing to exclude the possibility of mix breed dogs being submitted for registrations. Through the years, many people have taken short cuts trying to create a Biewer Terrier by mixing various combinations other dog breeds. This is an unacceptable practice in any purebred dog development and especially important in the foundation of the Biewer Terrier.
Explanation of the three generation rule for AKC advancement
AKC has supplied the following graph defining the 3 generation rule for advancement to Misc.
We will be correlating the AKC terms to the percentages from the Wisdom Panel.
50% Yorkshire Terrier and 50% Biewer Terrier is considered a splitter (mix breed) and will not be registered.
