🌟 An Interview with Carol Brinson 🌟
Q1: Welcome to the position of Local Clubs Chairperson for the Biewer Terrier Club of America, Carol Brinson! Can you tell us a little about yourself and your connection to Biewer Terriers?
Carol Brinson: I have been Married to My Husband Paul since I was 19, and he was 24 (43 years). We have 3 Children, 8 grandchildren, and 1 Great-grandson. I've been involved in Conformation since I was 8 years old. I enjoy Competing and training my dogs in obedience, Rally, Herding, Fast Cat, ACT Agility, and Conformation.
My journey with Biewer Terriers began years ago. I had been eyeing them for many years; then, I started sitting ringside at shows. They always reminded me of little clowns, and I knew I had to have one. I finally decided to go for the gold. I got My Biewer Terrier "Zeke" three years ago. Zeke was my first drop coat, and we have accomplished so much together, including 2023 #1 OH, #12 Top 40 Breed Standing Toy Group, #18 All Breed standings. I now have 4 of these little gems.
I have a lot of knowledge to share. I've dedicated countless hours to understanding the Biewer Terrier's unique traits, personalities, and needs. These dogs have brought immeasurable joy to my life, and I'm excited to share that passion with all of you.
Q2: What experience do you hold that makes you a great fit for the Local Clubs Chairperson?
Carol Brinson: I currently hold the position of Vice President at MASCUSA, where my journey with the organization began in 2013. Since 2016/17, I've actively contributed to the board, granting me extensive familiarity with board operations, tax regulations, bylaws, Roberts Rules, and parliamentary procedures. My experience extends to the successful execution of a National Club Event. I've taken on pivotal roles such as Board Liaison for Nationals, Herding Chair, and handling Judge's contracts and event applications across various categories, not limited to conformation alone. Additionally, I've spearheaded responsibilities as the Awards Chair, Banquet Chair, and practically every role in between. Furthermore, I possess a profound understanding of the event's logistics and the intricate workings during the event itself. My genuine passion lies in serving wherever there is a need, and I'm thrilled to bring this dedication to BTCA.
Q3: What inspired you to take on the role of Local Clubs Chairperson?
Carol Brinson: I desire to serve and support BTCA members who want to form a local specialty club. I will guide and direct those interested in promoting Biewer Terriers locally through matches, health clinics, seminars, and educational events open to the public. I want to contribute my skills and energy to foster a sense of togetherness among our local clubs. Together, we can accomplish remarkable things for our beloved breed.
Q4: What can our members expect from the Local Clubs program under your leadership?
Carol Brinson: Innovation, collaboration, and connection! I'm committed to bringing fresh ideas, by providing resources to our local clubs who wish to create a local club in their area. We'll create a vibrant network encouraging members to share their love for Biewer Terriers through local sanctioned events.
Q5: Any special message you'd like to share with the members of the Biewer Terrier Club of America?
Carol Brinson: Absolutely! To all our passionate members, I want to say this: your dedication to these wonderful dogs is inspiring. Together, we can elevate the Biewer Terrier family to new heights by engaging with like-minded people and sharing the love for our breed on the local level.
